Jake Wood is an English actor who played Rodney's assistant in The Jolly Boys Outing (25th December 1989). He is most famous for his role as Max Branning in fellow London based TV show EastEnders.

Born 12th July 1972 in Westminster, London to an English father John, and a French mother Joelle.

Jake played a minor role in Only Fools And Horses in 1989 as Rodney's assistant. Due to his later fame in EastEnders, his character has become part of a running gag by OFAH fans on social media saying "Is Max Branning in OFAH?" or "Rodney's assistant Max Branning".

In 1990, Jake played a minor character in EastEnders called Jackson. Jake then had many other TV roles in Inspector Morse, The Bill, Casualty, A Touch Of Frost and Silent Witness.
In 2006 Jake joined the cast of EastEnders full time as Max Branning, a Jack the Lad with a roving eye for the ladies. As of 2020 he remains in the role and is committed to EastEnders.
