an who we all have to thank for Only Fools And Horses. He created the show and wrote every episode apart from Sport Relief Sketch - 21st March 2014 which was written by his 2 sons.
Childhood[]
Born on the 23rd December 1946 in Balham, South London to John Sullivan Snr and Hilda Sullivan (Nee Parker). John said his fathers family came from Cork, Ireland and his mother's family from Kent, England, near to London where John was from. John left school aged 15 with no qualifications. He did say that in his neighbourhood, there was little opportunity after leaving school apart from being a "factory fodder".
Pre Only Fools And Horses writing career[]
John worked in many low paid jobs in South London but submitted script ideas to the BBC. He married Sharon Usher in 1974 and they had 3 children, Daniel, Jim in 1978, and Amy Sullivan.
John worked his way up as a writer for the BBC.
